Grief Support Spell Jar

What You’ll Need

Core Items

  • Small clear glass jar with lid
  • Purple or white candle for sealing the spell
  • Small piece of paper & pen for your intention

Healing Herbs

  • Lavender – brings calm and emotional relief
  • Rose petals – love, comfort, and gentle heart support
  • Chamomile – soothes distress and encourages rest

Supportive Crystals

  • Amethyst – spiritual protection and emotional holding
  • Rose Quartz – self-love and heart-healing energy

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1
Gently cleanse your jar and tools with sage, incense, or any method you like. As you do, imagine some of the heaviness you’re carrying softening and lifting away.
  2. 2
On your paper, write an intention for support and healing—for example:
“I allow myself to grieve while inviting love, comfort, and peace into my heart.”
Fold the paper toward you and place it at the bottom of the jar.
  3. 3
Add lavender, rose petals, and chamomile. With each pinch, visualize yourself being held with tenderness, understanding, and patience.
  4. 4
Place amethyst and rose quartz into the jar. Picture their energy wrapping around your heart like a soft, protective blanket of love and support.
  5. 5
Close the lid and light your purple or white candle. As you drip wax over the lid to seal the spell, imagine yourself surrounded by gentle light, comfort, and a sense of being watched over.
  6. 6
Place the jar somewhere special—your altar, bedside table, or a quiet space where you reflect, remember, or process your emotions.
When waves of grief come: Hold the jar in both hands, breathe slowly, and remind yourself that it’s okay to feel what you feel. Let this ritual be a small, steady anchor alongside any other support you’re using.
